  • The Gospel 5 Years Ago...Was The Same

Jesus is God. He said, “I and the Father are one”, (John 10:30). There will be a day when “every knee will bow, … [and] every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:10-11).

This should be a big deal to you, since you are among those who are condemned in the book of Romans, who “are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks” (Romans 1:20-21). As such, you deserve hell. If you “do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus[, you] will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power” (2 Thessalonians 1:9).

But there is hope, because Jesus is the Savior. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16). Jesus, being God, came about 2000 years ago as a sinless man. He suffered and died on a cross, came back to life, and ascended to sit at the right hand of God’s throne. If you trust and obey Jesus, He has the authority to make His perfect life count for you, and your sinful life to count as Jesus’, justly punished on the cross.

So abandon your sins, for which you deserve hell. Trust and obey Jesus Christ, so that you can enjoy Him both now and forever. He promised, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst…. Everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day” (John 6:35-40).
